Best all-time Team USA lineups (by fit, not fame): my ideal 8–10 man rotation.
most functional Team USA rotation for FIBA rules. Think roles: primary creator, secondary, movement shooting, switchable wings, rim protection, short-roll playmaking.
8–10 man list, minutes idea, and your closing five. Bonus: explain any famous omissions for fit reasons.
I'll go first:
Starters: Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Anthony Davis. Bench: Stephen Curry, Dwyane Wade (’08), Draymond Green, Kawhi Leonard.
CP controls tempo and fouls, Klay’s movement shooting punishes packed paint, KD is the ultimate FIBA cheat code, LeBron as secondary with short-roll reads, AD to camp at the rim with no defensive 3 seconds.
Closing five: CP–Klay–KD–LeBron–AD.
Omission: Kobe... love him but with CP/Klay/KD/LeBron you don’t need another on-ball scorer; you need low-dribble efficiency.
