* Two of the most popular and iconic family-friendly Bird mascots on the planet, standing out as one of the biggest names of animation. They’ve cemented themselves not only as the faces of pop culture, but never-ending ones, and will always receive new media no matter what. This is in part because they’re highly adaptive and can effortlessly work in almost any scenario imaginable. They belong to a loose and undefined canon, which allows them to easily slot into drastically different situations, such as animated TV shows, films, video games, comic books, and more. In line with this, they’ve acquired multiple jobs, having been actors, marines, sailors, chefs, doctors, wizards, and superheroes (Duck Avenger and Duck Dodgers).
* Both are famous for their iconic, never-ending series of adventures. They’re never locked to one location for long, constantly traveling far and wide, both throughout the world, space, different dimensions, and even across time. As a result, they’ve met many weird and powerful characters, ranging from ghosts, aliens, robots, doppelgangers, superheroes, crossover characters, and real world celebrities. They have even met one another in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
* Both occupy a meta-textual and metanarrative role in their respective universes. Both serve as a character in the universe, while also viewing their reality as just a script they’re acting in, working for the companies they belong to as two of their best actors. Over the decades, they’ve evolved in appearance and personality, reflecting changes in animation styles and audience preferences. These changes are pointed out in-universe, as they interact with past iterations of themselves, which are simultaneously treated as separate entities yet one and the same as them.
* Both are impatient, immature, and prideful anthropomorphic ducks with pessimistic attitudes and insecure dispositions. They’re aggressive and ill-tempered, often flying into a mad rage over minor inconveniences, and lashing out at the world and those around them. This ties into their extreme bad luck, as they’re constantly being put through the ringer both physically and mentally, serving as the butt of jokes when things inevitably backfire on them. Though, this is all mostly deserved, as if the universe itself is punishing them for their egos.
* Both are second-banana rivals and best friends towards their company’s mascots: easy-going, fun-loving heroes defined by their immense wit and adaptability (Mickey and Bugs). They’re deeply insecure and jealous of their ability to be famous without even trying, which causes them to try and upstage them and steal their spotlight. Despite this, they deeply value their friendship and share mutual respect, having an almost brotherly bond unmatched by anyone else in their cast. Always looking out for each other, they’re even willing to risk their lives for them.
