I feel shallow when ppl compliment me for my looks
I’ve noticed something that has started to bother me. Most of the compliments I get are about my appearance. I’ve been told I’m good looking and I’ve even been approached for modeling, but that was never something I was interested in. What concerns me is how often people stop at that surface level. It makes me question things like: are you friends with me because of that, or would you still talk to me if I didn’t look the way I do?
People love giving me that bullshit like “some people die of thirst while others drown,” but that doesn’t explain the reality. When you’re constantly judged, stared at in public or reduced to how you look, it stops feeling flattering. It becomes tiring and it feels limiting. I just want interactions that actually acknowledge who I am, not only what I look like.
