Stupid idea I had while recovering from a post-Thanksgiving food coma: what if X drops out of the tournament?

Speculation/Theory

I made a post a few days back where I gave my hot take that the tournament is going to only last like 1 or two episodes because of how strong X is; and while some agreed others pointed out that according to several interviews it’s confirmed that the tournament will be a major part of season 2.

Now that’s got me thinking the obvious question: how? X is so strong to the point that unless he’s fighting Queen or Lucky Cyan everyone should just get one snapped. And hell according to what we’ve seen Queen and Lucky Cyan should also still get one tapped as it doesn’t seem like the other heroes besides Ahu even know what his ability is. Like the writers could nerf X into the ground, but I’m not getting the impression that they want to do that. The point of X imo is the fact that the dude is that strong; he’s like their version of One Punch Man. He’s not supposed to be beatable (at this stage) and honestly that keeps making more sense to me the more I think about it (basically I don’t think they’d nerf X right after finally showing his abilities off in episode 24.)

So where does that leave us? Well now we arrive at my current theory: I think that X is just straight up going to drop out of the tournament. The show is called “To Be Hero X” and the tournament has ten slots but there are eleven main heroes. I can’t believe that they’re gonna just leave E Soul out of such a major arc considering how becoming number 1 is his obsession, which leads me to think that, yeah, he’s gonna be fighting in it.

I think X is gonna make an announcement, something to throw the corps off guard, and then teleport E-Soul or something into the tournament before going off to do X things. I think the point of X is that (at least until the end of the show) is that he is the hero that every other hero wants to reach, not just in terms of strength but in terms of character. X is obviously against the corps so I don’t think he’s gonna play their game with the tournament, he’ll show up, fling some fire, and go move the main plot along while the other top ten duke it out.

This way we can have every character actually fight without the narrative fear of one of them not getting the chance to shine by being one snapped. Sure one of ‘em will get the X title, but they’ll know in their heart that they didn’t actually deserve the title.

This gets around the corps fear of X winning the tournament four times in a row while also giving every hero a chance to shine when there’s this massive presence in the background of getting one snapped.
