Winter Styling in Northern Japan
Hello everyone! I've been natural over 15 years. My hair is quite long (mid back length), dense and coarse. I'm from the Caribbean originally and had no issues with moisture or hair care.
However, last year I moved to Hokkaido and the winter was harsh and long. I usually wear twists outs but obviously couldn't do that anymore as the winter here is very dry, so I started wearing small twists/braids with my own hair which I loved; however, my hair would begin to lock even after a week causing breakage. I did bigger twists/braids, but I personally don't like the look and they aren't versatile
This winter, I wanted to perhaps try wearing a wig, but being in Japan, even the high quality wigs are straight or wavy, a lot have bangs. I don't mind the look, but I don't know if it will look goofy. I never wore a wig. Is that ok. Any recommendations? Thank you.
TIdr: moved from the Caribbean to Northern Japan. The harsh, long winter has me stumped on styling as I usually wear twist outs. I want to try a wig as I have issues with wearing twists and braids (matting with small twists, not liking the look of bigger twsist), but the wigs available here are not my hair texture. I think they're cute, but I'm not sure if it's goofy. Looking for recommendations. Thank you!
