Outrageous pricing - old plans
So, to start with I will say that this is partly on us for not noticing or discussing this before, but I still think this is just outrageous from Ladder.
My wife has been a member for about three years, I joined about 6 months ago. She subscribed to the Pro+ plan when that was a thing. If you don’t know, that has the same functionality as buying the annual plan now. She was wondering about getting the $99 offer now, so we talked about what we have (I have the annual plan). Turns out she has been paying $39,99 a month for a plan that doesn’t exist anymore, has never paid attention to the changes in the plans or been informed about being able to get the same thing for fraction of the cost. She just uses the app for workouts (and now nutrition), never reads or posts in the chats or anything, so she had no idea.
So, if you ever wonder why you can still see a bunch of weird subscription types available if you look at the options in your apple-profile, it’s because Ladder is happily charging extortionate prices from old loyal members who haven’t actively sought to update their membership. Of course it’s easy to say that she should’ve noticed this before, and ultimately it falls on us for not doing anything about it before, but it never really came up, I could’ve told her in two seconds. Even so, I find it outrageous and pretty dodgy that they are doing this. It makes me wonder how many old members are out there paying several times more than what they could be paying, without any additional features or benefit.
I love the app, but this just feels wrong.
