Chapter 11: Tolkien Fucking Sucks, I'm Going to Make LotR better.
As a way to practice writing I'm looking to add to the lotr books, scenes from the films that the book does not cover.
In other words, make those walls of dusty, creaky, archaic text better, because Tolkien fucking sucks.
For example the below text is the battle between Aragorn and the wringwraiths at weathertop. Of which the book ends with frodo passing out and we do not read of it.
Because Tolkien fucking sucks, and his works need me to "bring them up to date" (i.e. make them not suck).
If you would not mind reviewing how close I got to cover the fight from the film (can be found easily on YouTube if you'renot a moron) :) thanks!
Striders assault was fierce and desperate, jumping in and lashing out with both sword and flame simultaneously. The wraiths sought to hem him in but his intensity could not be snared by their shadowed forms. He clashed with one, then wheeled upon another, driving them back as they faded from the glare of his brand. Merry and Pippin watched in dread, daring scarcely to breathe while Strider lit one aflame in a blaze of shrieking that caused them to recoil from its piercing sound. Undeterred, the others pressed him heedless of fear. The contest grew harsher, fiercer than fair, as Strider swept great arcs of firelight before him to keep their dread shapes at bay. Another was driven back by the flame, wailing no less than the first as it withdrew from the burning light that assailed it. Fire was their bane, for they dwelt in the twilit world of the Unseen, where flame is torment. Strider did not falter, his cause was too great. He rallied upon them further, steel meeting steel in ringing blows as he forced two more to shrink away and fly from him. One was now remaining unaccounted for, turning back around he saw it creeping towards Frodo and the ring, instinctively he threw his brand and it wedged into the hood of the creature sending it wailing and flailing over the crest and into the night. With that all had retreated away to shadow and the party hurried to their chief concern, Frodo. By his side there was a grim dagger that glowed a pale light. As Strider picked it up, it disintegrated in his hand. Strider grimaced and in a despairing frustration he spoke “He’s been stabbed by a Morgul blade. This is beyond my skill to heal.”
Feel free to tell me how much better I made that shit.
