Status Flight Worth It? PP > 1k

I have a $5k FFC. It will get me from PP to 1K.

The catch, the only place I can really get to with my available dates, price, etc would be Dublin Ireland in mid December.

Not ideal considering if I hold the FFC through 11/2026 I can go… well… anywhere else.

1. I freakin’ love Dublin. I’ve been 3 times. I’ll go again. December just isn’t super ideal.
2. I’m from the Midwest and it’s cold and wet here already. I’d be going from cold to cold.
3. $5k could make for multiple great domestic trips in 2026 or a nice mid-year getaway vs a forced EOY flight.

My question: Considering I probably won’t travel enough to maintain 1K next year (job change) would you push to go for 1K or save the FFC for subsequent year travel at your leisure but remain PP?
