23 M, lost over 20lbs in 4 weeks despite eating more than usual and having a history of being unable to lose weight. Went to my doctor multiple times and she keeps telling me it's stress/anxiety when I know it's not and labs are abnormal. What do I do, does this seem normal?
I've been having to go to the doctor a bit the past month for some weird health issues that the doctor wasn't taking me seriously about. Had my first doctors appointment with her on 10/28, and only 3 days after that appointment I saw that I looked noticeably thinner so I weighed myself and lost 14 lbs (within 72 hours). I had a perfectly normal appetite and bowel movements at this point with the exception being frequent urination and urinary retention. I made another doctor's appointment because my symptoms were beginning to get worse and also the loss of 14 lbs in 3 days whenever I have quite literally never been able to lose weight no matter how hard I try was concerning to me. She said "it's just anxiety, you don't have the c word" and brushed me off and even tried to double this nerve medication im on that doubles as a SRNI, which was definitely a slap in the face. Also don't know why she mentioned the c word at all because I never even mentioned that I thought it could be that
Fast forward to now, I haven't been paying attention to my weight because "it's just anxiety" or whatever but now I'm down 22lbs in 4 weeks and I've actually been forcing myself to eat more than what I've been hungry for to try and keep my weight up but I've still lost this much weight.
I'm not active anymore, I don't have the energy or the strength to exercise anymore , and I'm eating more than I've ever ate in my life and I'm just losing more and more weight! My thyroid levels are normal, but my blood work and urine was relatively trash. Pretty high RBC, hematocrit, hemoglobin, and low absolute + % of lymphocytes and elevated immature granulocytes. Urine showed protein of 40, ketones of 90, blood, and elevated billirubin and leukocyte esterase, but culture showed no UTI. I also have slightly elevated calcium in my blood and protein of 9. I'm not diabetic nor prediabetic, my blood sugar range is right where it needs to be.
Also about 2 weeks ago out of nowhere my appetite completely ceased to exist and I went 3 days without being able to eat food, and then started vomiting blood out of nowhere. Went BACK to the doctor for that and again she said it's just anxiety. The total loss of appetite and vomiting literally only lasted 3 days and this was 2 weeks ago, but I went to an urgent care to get more answers
The labs that found out this information were done at an urgent care because my primary didn't want to do labs because she felt like it'd "be a waste since it's just my anxiety" . I went back to her after these labs because the urgent care doc said I definitely needed to follow up to figure out what's wrong but my doctor doesn't know what's up and is saying it's just stress but I'm not stressed or anxious, if anything the only negative emotion I'm feeling is frustration since no one knows what the hell is wrong with me and it's now interfering with my work, school, and social life!
