High school bullying still exist, enlighten your kids.

I got a part- time job as a substitute teacher in a high school. Now it's not the job I was looking for but I needed the extra money it could bring, and the way the job came was silly. I was on Alibaba's site when a lady said she was buying school materials for her school and was seeking part- time teachers. So, I reached out, went for the interview and passed. I officially started this week, but was told to observe the students and go through their materials to create my study plan. My first day was fine, but I noticed how the students treated a certain student because of her size. Apparently when I asked them why they were bullying her and treating her that way they said because she looked “ a fat woman in a bathing suit”, “ugly” and “is not one of them”. This was quite disturbing seeing how they were comfortable using such words on their fellow classmates with no sympathy. I started class the next day correcting a few things and setting strong rules around word choices when referring to people. But I can't be in all schools at once, nor can I handle situations that arise like this in other places. Let's learn to teach our kids better at home, while teachers should try to be more observant of the kids placed under your care while they're in school. For it is another learning ground for them and it would shape their future and understanding in life, if the foundation is faulty, then the building won't stand. Let's teach them right and scold what is wrong so they know better.
