LPT: If you want people to actually listen to your advice, start by asking *their* opinion first.
Most people shut down the moment they feel “taught.” But when you ask them first , “What do you think works best for you?” or “How do you usually handle that?” , you flip the dynamic. Suddenly it’s not you giving orders, it’s a conversation. When they answer, you can weave your advice naturally into what they said. They feel heard, not corrected. This works with coworkers, friends, family, even online debates. People remember ideas they arrived at themselves. You just helped them get there. The funny part? It also makes you sound wiser, calmer, more confident , because you don’t need to win the conversation to have impact. You just need to plant a seed and let their ego water it.
