Suggestions for reviving this garden pathway?
As you can see, this pathway running through the garden (formerly smooth crushed gravel) has been overtaken by weeds, grasses, mosses. I suspect most of the underlying landscaping fabric has also deteriorated or worn through. I'm looking to remove the weeds, replace the fabric and lay a new material on top.
I am seeking suggestions on the following:
- Method to remove existing weeds and grasses
- Preparation advice before laying the fabric
- What material to use as top layer - Wood Chips? Bark Mulch? Gravel? Crush?
- Any other advice on how to approach the situation and replenish the walking area while maintaining the integrity of the growing spaces.
Considerations: The surrounding area is used to grow herbs and vegetables for human consumption. Budget is around $800 CAD. Approximate surface area is 20m² (~200 sq ft). Coastal climate in western Canada.
