Nagito's free time events

i've been trying to get nagito's second fte (i already have his first one) in chapter 3 yet it isn't triggering. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I already tried to replay chapter 1 and talk to him for the first FTE which simply led me to giving him and present the fte not triggering.

I also tried it in island mode and the same result happened, I also made sure to always use the hopes peak ring gift which is a gift he loves. Any solutions?
