I love [this trope] but I HATE [this thing] they always do in that trope

I actually love friends to lovers but if I have to read one more where the MMC’s casual hookups are hot girl bimbos who are immediately rude to the FMC because they’re threatened by her relationship with MMC I am going to s c r e a m.

Like my enjoyment of the trope does not hinge on this little micro trope but I swear some authors are convinced you can’t do friends to lovers without this. Which is dumbbbb
