should i be fearful of getting into a relationship with this guy

we are both 19 and i’ve never been in a relationship and he told me the only 2 he’s been in one girl has a court ordered protection against him and he faced charges for harassment which were dropped because he has bpd but fully assured me that she was just crazy and he was victimised. the first girl he was with broke up with him and told someone that he bashed and raped her and he lost all his friends because of it. he also explained that it was a lie and idk if i should fully believe him considering both of his relationships ended with allegations against him. i’ve found this info out last week after talking for 4 months but ik he wants to officially get together and i just need advice if i should and just see or stay clear.
