Societies are disappointing. Also why isn't there a sports society?
Let alone sports, there are very few societies which are about general thing.
I've been checking societies and the way they are advertised "hundreds of unique societies!". But not a single one like basketball, football, or anything general other than sports and tbh majority of them are lame. Here is how the percentages go:
50% of them are country/region and religion societies, so I'd eliminate them. 20% of them are lecture/course related societies (engineering ones, CSS, Architecture etc.) 10% of them are history, dance, drama, law (multiple societies about same subject), 10% of them are women societies. 5% of them are weird af things like railway society (deadass), nerd society, anime society etc.
Only like 5% of them actually covers real, broad interests that you would actually see majority of people around you would be interested in, or ones covering skills for future like Finance, marketing. Or covering something that almost everyone knows like chess.
Among 300 societies you would even see some sht like railway society but not a single sports, basketball, football, tennis, volleyball, card games, billiards, bowling, games... is there a rule?
