Trustone as a duck call

Hey all I've using trustone in a few knife projects in a handle use so it's quite easy to work with there however I want to attempt to make a duck call.

From what I am reading it's fairly brittle with assembly so I was wondering if anyone uses a male and female threaded sleeves to allow easy assembly and disassembly. Especially with calls you want to take them apart periodically to clean the reed .

Secondly are there any distributors that you know of that sell blocks 2" and larger? I am only finding 1.5" and smaller.
