Second passport supplemental ID

Hello, I know someone posted about this around 2 years ago but it doesn’t have enough info. I am a FL resident applying for a second passport in Mass because I go to school there. I need it due to Visa application delays. I know I need a secondary ID. What could I bring in this case? The only thing I can think of is my other passport, but I wouldn’t want them to either deny it as sufficient or take it as if Im renewing.
