What’s the best way to give positive feedback about a waitress?

On a roadtrip, stopped in a restaurant and really appreciated the waitress who helped us out. We were in a rush so I didn’t get a chance to say anything in person. We did tip well and I wrote thanks on the receipt but I’d love to somehow contact a manager and give her some props. Is that a thing people do? Should I call or email?
