Condo with unapproved mods

Hi all, under contract on a condo in a HCOL area.

However there were some unapproved mods made during covid by the previous owner.

Current owner never got it fixed/adjusted.

Supposed to close the first week of Dec and they want to offer us a closing credit.

How dumb is this plan?

Because of the holidays, travel, taxes due to funds moved for purchase, and overall timing - I’m considering it.

In an ideal world we’d ask them to fix it and get approval…. But I don’t think that’s possible in 2025.

Does anyone have experience with this?
