How low can I move this floating wooden bar to fit my TV? Or should I just completely remove it?

Living Room

Hi all,

Happy Holidays! I'm a long-time lurker here so I thought it'd be great to have you all help me with this decision. Attached below is an image of our living room with the electric fireplace and floating wooden bar where we will be putting our TV.

Some additional information about everything on this wall as seen from the photo. All dimensions are WxHxD format.

Full Wall

Close up

Wall

  • 9 ft - floor to ceiling

TV

  • Dimensions: 68 in x 38.7 in x 2 in
  • 3 inch gap between wooden bar and TV for soundbar.
  • Top of TV is 93 in and bottom of TV is 54 in off the floor, respectively.

Wooden Bar (WB)

  • Dimensions: 72 in x 5.5 in x 5.5 in
  • Bottom of wooden bar to electric fireplace is 13 in.

Electric Fireplace (EF)

  • Dimensions: 45 in x 20 in
  • 12.5 in from the floor

Couch

  • From TV wall to couch is roughly 10 ft.
  • Couch seat is 23 in off the floor.

As you all can see here, we're still craning our necks upward and it's not pleasant. I'm initially looking at moving the WB down 10 in, effectively giving it a 3 in space between the bottom of WB and the top of the EF.

Two main questions:

  1. Does this make it weird that the WB is so low and so close to the EF? This would make the WB nearly 3ft off from the floor. Top and bottom of TV would go from 93 & 54 to 83 & 44 in off the floor.

  2. Or should we just completely remove the WB? I do like it a lot, but I also want to make sure the TV fits and not have to crane our neck. If we went with this, we would further lower the TV to 77.5 & 38.5 in off the floor.

Please let me know if you would like some additional information. I'll be happy to supply them. All comments/concerns/advice/anything are welcomed! Thanks in advance everyone - happy holidays!!
