Walmart policy that can apparently leave you hungry

I've been getting some food at Walmart couple days ago, and my EBT wouldn't scan so I asked the clerk to manually enter it, so I can make a purchase they told me they cannot do that, ask for a manager got the same reply. So I decided to call corporate because it seemed unintuitive they basically leave people hungry, corporate told me they going to take care of it and that's unacceptable etc etc. Couple days later I'm receiving a call from the Walmart, local Walmart, which I have been shopping at, and lady on a phone keep telling me yes that's their policy they cannot enter the card manually. So I asked her basically their policy say that they can leave people hungry, she told me no you can get a new card, I asked her what if it's evening or it's a holiday and DES office is closed and I cannot get a new card? And what she did? she hang up on me... How professional lol... You think such a big corporation will be all about the profit because They basically losing sale meaning losing the profit okay it's small but still this can add up I'm sure I'm not the only one ... Main thing though people can be literally left without the food
