The original plan was to wait for the Steam Deck 2, but since it most likely doesn't come out till 2028, and with the introduction of the Steam Machine, it got me thinking: should I buy it or build my own PC just to stream to my Steam Deck to play games?

Basically turning those into a Wii U + Wii U GamePad, no TV combo. Small game, play natively on the Deck, heavier game, stream play though PC.

I want to upgrade a bit while waiting for the Deck 2. When it comes out, if I think it's worth it, I may sell the setup to buy it.

I don't have any plan to go back to sitting and playing on a desktop PC, so I will only be playing on my Steam Deck, either natively or with streaming.

My main concern is latency and input lag, since my favorite games to play are action combat with parry timing (Sekiro, Nine Sol, Lie of P…).

So my question is, is it worth it to buy the Steam Machine or build my own PC just to stream play to the Deck? And also to those that stream their game from your PC to your Deck, how is the input lag, especially when playing timing games? Give it to me straight, no sugarcoating.

My Wi-Fi internet speed test results are like in the pictures. Will it be enough for low latency?

This is my first time ever attempting to play stream game, so I have no idea what it's like. I also currently don't have a PC or laptop to test it with my Steam Deck, so sorry if some of my questions sound stupid. Thank you all in advance, please give me your wisdom.

Need you guys' opinion on whether or not I should buy the Steam Machine or build my own PC just to stream and play games on my Steam Deck.
