Do I need to get a different Nvme

Build Question

Ok so im building a new pc and this is my first time using Nvme. So with that im also just now learning about Pcie bifercation. I bought a Gigabyte x870 gaming wifi7 motherboard. The main M.2 slot runs pcie5 and the other 2 run pcie4 through the chipset. I bought a M.2 pcie4 (thought it was pcie5) and a regular sata SSD. I wanted to run my OS through my M.2, but now that I see that my motherboard only has one pcie5 slot, do I return my m.2 and get a pcie5 and put the OS on that so I can have it running through the cpu. Or is it fine to run it on the pcie4 and put that on the chipset slot (because eventually I will want to get a pcei5 Nvme). Is that gonna affect anything noticeable.
