Winter in Spain

Hi! I’m going to Spain and Portugal from the end of December through mid January I’m going to be traveling through both a lot so I know the weather won’t be consistent but would anyone be able to give me some advice on what to expect? I’ll be in Barcelona, Madrid, and some other northern cities
