parking tips for bone thugs-n-harmony at the fillmore silver spring (silver spring 11/30)
hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking tips for the bone thugs-n-harmony show on 11/30. parking at the fillmore can be a mess, and it’s right on colesville road which gets super congested as showtime approaches, so you gotta have a plan .
first thing you should honestly check out is Prked. it's an app for renting out private driveways and unused garage spots. it’s way cheaper than a lot of the official lots sometimes, and people right next to the venue put their spots up . you skip the main traffic jam for the public garages, reserve your spot in advance, and walk like 3 minutes. it's the insider move if you want to avoid the garage lines and get closer .
now for the public parking situation, here is the huge tip: the concert is on a sunday. montgomery county public parking garages and on-street meters are free on sundays . this is clutch. usually, you have to pay mon-sat until 10 pm , but on 11/30, you can park for free in the big garages.
the two closest and most recommended county garages are the spring cameron garage (one block away) and the town square garage (two blocks away) . these usually have plenty of spaces at night for concerts . look for the ellsworth dr garage and wayne ave garage too, they’re also popular and close .
even though it's free, try to arrive around 7:00 pm or so to make sure you get a good spot and beat the last-minute rush right before doors open. traffic on colesville road is always a thing .
if you absolutely want a guaranteed spot right now, you can pre-book parking through apps like parkwhiz or spothero . this means your spot is secured, but you'll pay a reservation fee. spots like the 8600 ramsey ave garage or the silver spring metro plaza garage are often on there .
avoid street parking on fenton street if you can, it's very limited and unpredictable, and since it’s a sunday and free, the few spots will be gone early . stick to the big public garages—especially since they're free on sunday!
bring a credit card for any pre-paid spots or just in case, but you can usually pay with the parkmobile or passport apps too .
hope this helps and have a great time at the show. it’s going to be a good one!
