P1 email after instruction letter

I just received my Letter of Demand/Instructions (LD) on my GCKey portal (the one asking for passport submission, or instructing on using the web form if I'm already in Canada, as shown in the attached document).

However, I have not received the P1 email yet (the first IRCC email usually asking to confirm your status in Canada and upload the PR Card photo, sometimes referred to as the PR Portal email). My main question is:

• Does the P1 email (or the access to the PR Portal for photo/confirmation) usually get sent AFTER I have completed the steps requested in the LD (submitting the web form if I'm inland)?

• Or, will I receive the P2 email directly after completing the LD steps, bypassing a P1-type email entirely?
