I’m the guy who was asking if all this is worth it the other day. So I ended up buying a cheap tens unit, just to see if I like the idea of these sensations before breaking the bank.

I have read a bit here and elsewhere, and it seems there is a danger of unpleasant shocks or even burns if you inadvertently undo an electrode leaving one on. How risky is this? Like if you have a conductive toy in your butt and the second patch on your skin comes off, can you really hurt yourself?

Happy for any written safety guides. I am really bad at understanding electricity.
