What do you think of shifting the focus to another character in close third person?
I feel like POV switches in First Person is becoming quite popular in certain genres, but I rarely if ever see it in close third*.
I do this a few times in my novel when I feel like what is happening away from/with my MC in another person's POV could be interesting, but I am not sure if there is some kind of unwritten rule about third person limited that I am breaking here and making my work feel "cheap".
Anyway, what do you think of shifting the focus in third limited?
(*basically like first but with 3rd person pronouns, focusing on one character's thoughts and actions).
