Can you see the Alps, driving from Wien to Klagenfurt?

As the title asks, my team took part in the 2009 Summer Games in Klagenfurt (does someone here remember sais games?). And I somehow remember our plane landing in Wien and then taking a busride to Klagenfurt, and during that bustrip almost the entire way I could see some height changes/mountains on the left side in the horizon. Could these have been the alps, or were these some other collection of mountains?
