Campus placements are so messed up

So for context I'm a third year CS student from a tier 2/3 institute and ngl I had no clue how on campus placements worked. Recently we have been having companies offering internships and we have been sitting in their OAs. It's crazy how they will put their cgpa criteria as 7+ or 8.5+ and people will be sitting for the OA thinking that they have an opportunity when it's all bleak!!!

Because even after we solve the questions completely, grind leetcode and code forces like crazy, somehow the companies short list the people with 9+ cgpa who don't even solve all questions in the OA. It's really weird how this works. Like I am genuinely confused now how it's only the 9+ folks getting shortlisted for every damn interview when some hardly know any DSA.

It's a really crazy situation because off campus resume screen nhi ho rahi ya OA bohot zyada tough hai and on campus bas ye 9+ cgpa wale short list hote Jaa rahe hai...like everything is so confusing.

I wanted to know if this is the case in other colleges as well....
