“Relapse” was a good thing for me

I’m 24 years old and I smoked weed for 8 years daily from ages 15 - 23. It was my favorite thing to do, I realized it wasn’t fun anymore and it felt more like a chore I had to do multiple times a day. My productivity was low, I was very impulsive and irritated. From ages 20 -23 I was trying to quit but always ended up buying more when I ran out. I realized I couldn’t quit until I REALLY wanted to stop. I finally quit in September last year, so I’m about 1 year and 2 months sober from weed. I told myself I might smoke again once I have my life together and concrete positive daily habits. My medical card needed to be renewed so last night l made and impulse decision to buy one of those thcp vapes from the smokeshop. I took 1 hit and got high but i instantly remembered why I quit. I wasn’t enjoying it at all, I felt dumb and slow. Immediately threw it out and realized why it’s better to stay off the weed. I guess I relapsed but I think it was good for me to understand why I need to avoid smoking weed. The first couple months after I quit were hell and I didn’t think I could do it, but I pushed through and after around 5 months I was normal again, didn’t even think about weed at all. Just a reminder to everyone who is struggling to quit or dealing with relapse Impulses, It’s not worth it. Lock in and focus on becoming the best version of yourself.
