Porn should be illegal, and we need to think about it seriously to eliminate it completely from society.

Serious [No Jokes Allowed]

Porn is no more a novelty, and most of us are used to it. I was addicted to it, and I believe every honest boy in twenties will admit that at some point they tried to get rid of the habit. Something which was normal a day before has now completely lost it's appeal to me. The reason I am sharing such a personal event is because I believe most of us aren't willingly consuming porn we are being tricked.

A group of boys was sitting in common hall of hostel discussing recently viral pornographic video, 'kalua' reference. Throughout the conversation female body was treated as 'object'. The emotional dryness which occupied minds and confusion between violence and pleasure made some of us sick. I am convinced of the uselessness of any principle of explanation and sure of the educative message of perceptible appearance. Anyone who has ever tried to sense the experience of people being filmed must have been able to see through the illusion. What kind of content is porn? Is it art? Is it commodity? Is it education? It is undeniably one of the biggest industries and we students are largest consumers of it, but what even is this thing we are addicted to?

It is no art since art is fundamentally expression of artist's personal experience. Porn is nothing more than arousing sounds and gestures. It is not even a commodity, no commodity involves such a level of violence and abuse during production. It it education? But you won't find a single Playboy magazine in your library, no state sponsors it. So what exactly is porn? It is nothing less than opium. Both the markets operate in similar fashion. It is destroying whole generation.

I am not here to persuade you, neither to rant, but to discuss something which we all are collectively dealing with. Please leave your constructive points.
