Breastfeeding moms using tretinoin — what did your doctor say?

Most resources say to avoid it during pregnancy because of the risk of facial defects, but then I noticed breastfeeding moms often get automatically grouped into the same “avoid” category even though the baby is already born.

Is there actual evidence that topical tret while breastfeeding can harm a newborn? Has anyone gotten medical guidance on this? I’d mainly be using it for stretch marks, not my face.
