Reality Check: Viability of older Nissan Leaf

Hi all, would really appreciate your advice!

Context: already own an EV (MG ZS 2020) and have an installed home charger. We’ve pushed the ‘one car of the whole family’ thing for money saving, but will have to get a second car for commuting Monday-Friday next year.

The journey will be ~30mile/day and therefore looking at the cheapest option out there. Given the charger already there and journey, my eyes have gone towards the older Nissan Leaf models as they currently are ~£2,500 for ones <70,000miles.

Is it too good to be true? It’s like the cheapest cars out there between price & running costs. I wonder whether there is some fine print I’m not aware of that will bite me in the butt.

Anyone with an older Nissan leaf or someone who have had one before, can tell me any advice before jumping in? I’m really trying to avoid paying £10,000 for the next category of EVs (MG, Kia Niro etc) and this seems to fit with my needs but kind of blind about the possibly known problems of Nissan Leaf’s 😊
