You get your favorite anime remastered but it’s made using ai.

ai is a big topic in anime. Who gets the credit, who gets paid, are they doing it in a lazy way, etc. I mean, look at some of the slop coming out recently. All things we need to take into consideration moving forward. But ai is also not going away either.

But let’s say a company does it right. All the original creators get compensated appropriately and the final product comes out exactly the way you wanted it. The only thing is, they remastered/remade it using mostly, if not entirely, ai.

I don’t want this to be a debate about how companies use it poorly. There are plenty of posts on that. I want to know how you would feel assuming they did it well.

I’ll start with my own opinion. I grew up watching Gundam Wing and turned it on the other day for that nostalgia hit. And WOW does it not age well (animation, audio, etc). I’d love to see it as I remember it and would be OPEN to a solution that leverages ai to do it. With all the caveats from above (done well, not slop, original creators get credit/compensation, and there’s a healthy amount of human oversight).

How would you feel? And what would your first request be?
