What to do at the intermediate level?

I'm currently at a level where I'm definitely not a beginner anymore, but I'm still missing a lot of vocabulary. I like watching videos or tv shows in Russian but then I'll either have to look up words all the time, which gets a bit exhausting, or I just skip past a lot of them and miss out on a bunch of context. I feel like it would be a good idea to do some reading, but I don't know where to find good resources for this. Any suggestions? I'd really prefer if it is free, but I get that that's a bit limiting.
