Unpopular opinion a rooted Firecube is the best overall device
Probably will get downvoted. But the best setup is firecube with troypoint videos. You have to block dns url via your router. Turn on and use a brand new firecube to avoid updated firmwae. Then disable updates permanently. This is all shown on the last few troypoint videos on youtube. I have had every main stream device and this is the best setup. Also this prevents all future bullshit google sideloading scenario and any future restrictions amazon wants to implement. Also the amazon firmware updates are not really needed (they are mostly used against piracy). The voice capabilities of Alexa with keyboard/tv commands and total control are the overall best and its half the price of the older shield. Don’t knock it till you try it. So far I have done this with two Firecubes that I got the other day from amazon. So you can still exploit the device.
