In the thinking about it phase. [Discussion]
My husband and I are tossing around the idea of dipping our toes in. I had bad experiences with my ex trying to force me into the lifestyle and differing preferences, opinions and comfort levels regarding the lifestyle so it never went anywhere. I am much more comfortable and safe with my current husband and the trust is much stronger. I have no issues believing that he would absolutely take my feelings and comfort into account, as I would with him which I feel is vital. My issues are with myself and being insecure with my body. I’ve always had issues with self confidence and insecurities. I feel like if I find something unattractive about myself then so will others. Why I care if someone doesn’t find me to be their type or is not attracted to me I don’t know. Just because I’m not attracted to someone doesn’t mean I think they’re gross or anything. I see other women who are so comfortable in their skin, and only their skin, and I am almost jealous. I am extremely “imperfections make us perfect and beautiful” positive for everyone but myself. Are there any women who can emphasize and give some advice? Men as well? I guess there’s a worshipper for every flaw and I know there are guys (and ladies) who go crazy for the things the most uncomfortable with but I still struggle. That aforementioned ex was great at making sure my insecurities were repeatedly brought to my attention and while I know my current husband loves every single millimeter of me, it has taken years to accept that and be 100% comfortable with myself with him. Opening myself up and revealing them to randos is a challenge. Has anyone else, male or female been able to overcome insecurities through this lifestyle or do the insecurities make it hard to let go and completely enjoy the experience?
