Discussion: jobs going offshore

I just found out a large firm that services government and health plans is going to be laying off the majority of their workers here in the USA.

These are clerical jobs many families depend on these jobs in my area. These are not manufacturing jobs.

What good is it to deport the illegal invaders which we should, But let the American jobs supported by American workers salaries go to India?

I wish there was a way to get a message to Trump to charge a reverse tariff on the clerical jobs leaving the USA.

Manufacturing jobs you can charge a tariff on the object manufactured. Can’t do that on clerical jobs. Between AI and India we are going to lose a ton of jobs. Maybe for each job lost to offshore we tax the companies a huge hit, like ten years worth of salaries.
