Running Reddit on PC using Microsoft's version downloaded from the MS Store.

End Democracy

Here's some of the MS "benefits"that I have to deal with all the time. I clicked on an option to run from the Edge browser. It immediately asks me to prove I'm not a bot. Fine. I clicked on "I am not a bot". Then it shows me boxes containing pictures which I cannot see because I'm f'ing BLIND! I couldn't tell what I was supposed to see in those squares or what to do if I could figure it out. Oh, I could ask my wife to come in and bail me out again but she's starting to give me the side-eye for those requests. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow morning when I turn on my PC I'll find out that MS has downloaded "updates", reset my personalization settings thereby wiping out the high contrast theme it took me days to create so I could read text on a black background. I can hardly wait. If I was 50 years younger I'd create an app that would determine a users visual acuity and tailor a module to convert all webpages to color combinations that the visual app found functional for the user. There are numerous forms of blindness out here in user-land but unfortunately there aren't enough of us to trigger MS to spend money on providing tools for us. .001% of users? But as more and more of us Boomers lose our eyesight ... nah, still not enough to mean much to MS. Besides that, we'll have so much arthritis they'd have to deal with that too.

But it would be a fascinating App to develop - assuming I could tailor the development app so I could use it.

My wife bought one of those floor vacuum cleaner bots called Shark and I was moping in my easychair when I heard the little f'er coming toward me. I burst out laughing because the first thing I thought of was how much f'ing fun it would have been to be part of that design team.

We call the little f'er Daffy. If you haven't seen the new looney tunes, you need to. Daffy, my wife and I both agree is the most f'ing lovable little narsacistic SOB ever created. I can't think of either Daffy or that Shark invention without smiling. Microsoft, on the other hand ....
