Looking for information…new teen driver son came home from his first ever date with a flat tire. I scheduled a tow to Belle Tire tomorrow for when they open…I’d like to just replace all four tires, but I could use some advice as I’m not exactly sure about car things…
My sweet 16 year old son who recently got his drivers license went to the movies this evening. I received an alert that the tire pressure was low on my 2020 Chevy Trax Lt. I told him to drive slow and get it home (only about 3 miles). When he arrived, the tire pressure was 3? And the tire is completely flat. I know I have a spare but unfortunately I have no clue how to change a tire. Thankfully we have Life360 Gold with free towing so I scheduled a tow to Belle Tire for tomorrow morning at 8am when they open. The Trax has 76,487 miles on it, original tires that really would all benefit from being replaced. So my question as a mom who has no clue about this is:
Do I ride with the tow truck? It’s only 0.9 miles so I can walk, it’s just super cold out HAHA
When I get to Belle Tire, what should I say? Just that I have one flat but I would like all four replaced?
My budget is preferably under $800, is that reasonable or do I need to pull some money from savings?
We live in Ohio, cold winters, hot summers. Are there like certain tires I should ask for?
How fast is a place able to replace four tires? We live in a small town, I don’t think it’s a very busy location, but I’m wondering if I need to get a rental temporarily?
Will they be upset I am getting towed there? I just panicked and the front passenger tire is currently so flat the rim is touching the ground. We don’t have off street parking and tomorrow is trash day and the car cannot be parked in front of the house.
I’m sorry if these aren’t appropriate for this subreddit, I’m just not really sure where else to ask this late at night.
