Are 8.0s going the way of 7.5 & 7.75 [44YO]
TLDR: it seems like 8.0s are slowly getting tougher to find too. Anyone else find this too? Am I the only choked about it?
Started skating again this past summer after a roughly 10 year hiatus. I skated 7.5s and 7.75s almost exclusively for more than 23 years before that and when I first jumped back on I skated my old 7.5 but it was not very poopy so I decided to buy a new board. I managed to track down a few 7.75s and skated those a month or so each and while I was obviously still rusty, I felt like a lot was coming back to me.
However, after burning through those few decks I basically moved to an 8.0 out of necessity because I pretty much bought all the 7.75s left at the local shops and I'm not a huge fan of online (I like to look at the shape, no warp etc) and I'm still having a hard time adjusting, especially skating flat ground (flip tricks).
Worst of all, now it seems like the selection of 8.0s is getting much slimmer, mind you there's still a fair few available but definitely getting tougher to find a shape or brand I like and I'm worried 8.0 is going extinct now too and I'm already struggling with adapting.
Thoughts??
