can i use tent-style cage for cage rest??

How long is cage rest needed after a cat’s Carpal Arthrodesis surgery? I couldn’t find a large enough single-level metal cage anywhere (I live in Korea). I ended up buying a tent-style cage and plan to put an EVA mat inside. Has anyone tried something similar?
