We deserve better

I’ve been in deep introspection mode this weekend, reflecting on my relationship with adderall in 2025, our collective relationship to adderall, and it’s NOT OK. If we can’t even trust brand name for quality control, what is the fucking point?

It’s NOT OK that every month, all we have is hope that (at best) the medication is effective and (at worst) that it’s not poison. We have diagnosed conditions and we need HELP. Instead we’re being harmed; spiritually, emotionally, and physically by these pharmaceutical companies. When you have to choose between unpredictable side effects and the hope of just being able to focus, something is out of balance and not right.

We are chained to this system that’s keeping us in a constant game of Russian roulette of junk generics. We have no idea what chemicals we’ll be ingesting from day to day, month to month. Which ones will work and which ones are making us sick. Which will be recalled or damage us long term. Which manufacturer will be consistent, if any. What country these drugs are coming from. It’s NOT OK.

I don’t know what I’m going to do. Like you, I rely on this medication to function, to be a productive member of society, to stay just stay afloat. I’ve spent months going back and forth, weighing the good vs. the bad, but this is a toxic relationship and I’m DONE.

We should not feel guilty for being sensitive to the changes in our medication. We should not feel guilty about having a medically diagnosed condition. We should not feel guilty for advocating medical care for ourselves. We should not feel guilty for wanting and DESERVING to be treated, consistently, fairly, and safely.
