not put back on schedule after work injury? am i getting fired?
Hi, not sure who else to ask. Abt 2 months ago, I randomly felt severe pain in my hip in the back (i work in ogp) but decided to go on with my day since im not the most fit person and usually get sore while working. The next day the pain was even more severe, and i tried toughing it out for the next week (not knowing that it counted as a work injury) and went to urgent care. They didn't rly help and i still had to work.
At the beginning of the month, i couldn't take the pain anymore and went to a doctor for real this time. I was diagnosed w/ sciatica that was most likely caused by a herniated disc (i think). I was given a month off and had to show the note to a manager. Obviously and understandably, they weren't happy that i went to the doctor before contacting them and gave me a yellow coaching. I explained that I had no idea it counted as a work injury bc it was so random but that I was really sorry i wasn't concise enough. I'm not at all mad that i got coached i just wanted them to know.
I was talking to the schedule guy (wont name him for obvious reasons, he was chill) and he gave me a claim number and everything. I asked if I had to go to sedgewick and apply for LOA formally but hw said he'll just take my note and take the days off.
I'm supposed to work on the 4th of December now, but my schedule goes all the way to december 19 and I'm STILL not scheduled to work. Am i getting fired? Should I quit before they can do anything? I'm really scared bc i have never been injured at the job and i don't know what walmart does specifically. :/ the most severe injury before this was literally breaking a toe
