CDMX Winter Trip Itinerary – Would love your feedback + suggestions!
Hi everyone! My family (my brother and I are 23M/23F, parents are active 60s) will be in CDMX in late December for 3.5 days. We’re staying in Roma Norte and we’re big on architecture, interiors, local design/shopping, markets, and just exploring neighborhoods.
I put together an itinerary but would love any feedback — things we should swap around, must-see spots near where we’ll be, overrated places to skip, food recs, etc. All suggestions welcome!
DAY 1 — Coyoacán + Roma/Condesa
Breakfast near the hotel (thinking Panadería Rosetta, Delirio, or Lalo!)
Head to Coyoacán to wander the plaza + market
Frida Kahlo Museum (guided tour)
Lunch at Madre Cocina Mexicana
Back to Roma/Condesa for shopping + exploring (Is La Lagunilla worth it on a weekday or better on Sundays?)
Dinner at Marmota
DAY 2 — Hot Air Balloon + Chapultepec
Early morning hot air balloon experience (breakfast included)
Back to hotel to rest
Visit Jardín Botánico de Chapultepec (anything else nearby worth pairing with this?)
Dinner at Martínez
DAY 3 — Centro Histórico + Food Tour
Diego Rivera Mural Museum (planning ~1 hour)
Street food tour near Palacio de Bellas Artes (11–2:30 PM)
Chill afternoon back in Roma or stroll a nearby neighborhood
Dinner at Máximo
DAY 4 — Departure Day (Flight at 2 PM)
Any ideas for a low-stress activity in the morning? Maybe a cute breakfast spot, quick market, or a short walk somewhere scenic?
Questions for locals or CDMX lovers:
Are any of these restaurants overrated / must-book early?
Best markets or boutiques in or near Roma/Condesa?
Anything we’re missing that fits our interests (design, interiors, chill exploring)?
Should anything be moved around for better logistics?
