Jbl flip 6 vs flip 7 comparison

I stopped at the flip 4 but decided to get a new flip

i picked up the 6 and the 7 to see which one was better given the $10 difference

the difference was huge, the 7 is louder but it’s screechy as hell, so i tried to eq it but it sounds dark with a noticeable treble rolloff even with the treble slider at max and at all volumes there’s compression in the mix. the 6 on the other hand sounds much more refined and it sounds so much more dynamic even at max all genres keep more dynamic range that the 7. there was no way that jbls new flip was worse that its predecessor

then i look at alan ross reviews on the flip 6 vs 7 and i knew that my ears werent broken. the 7 is more or less basically a retuned flip 6 but with less dynamic range. it was only retuned for volume but not for actual sound quality

so i returned the 7 for and kept the 6 as it sounds best to my ears
