Schmaltzy corporate packaging

Channel surfing we landed on the 25th anniversary show and ten minutes of it reminded us why it has become hard to watch MS now. Presumably the organizational changes and declining market share have the suits and talent stressed and struggling to figure out how to rebuild the brand, but the choices thus far seem wrong. The “this is who we are” junk is about as effective a PR campaign as “Build Back Better”, and the constant effort to build everything around PERSONALITIES is insulting (especially since they fired a number of the most interesting ones). Can’t figure out who they believe the audience is that wants to process political issues via “stars.” We’re looking for smart progressive analysis in a very dark time, not a chance to join a fan club. Given the right wing takeover of literally all other mainstream media, MS’s plunge is pretty depressing.

Just joined this sub to grumble this and see some perplexing prior conversations about whether ‘negativity’ is allowed here, sonlet’s see if I get censored, which would certainly be ironic and sad.
