AITA for not wanting to cuddle with my girlfriend because she’s sick and I have final exams coming up?

Tonight my girlfriend came home from seeing her family and friends for thanksgiving. She seems to have caught a sinus infection, and on top of that she had to drive over six hours total to get home tonight.

When she got home she had a ton of stuff in her back seat and asked for help, and I carried the majority of it inside no problem. While she was on her way home, I decided to make her some gluten free wanton soup (she has celiac disease). When she got home, we had soup, I massaged her feet and we chatted about how seeing our families went. After that I helped her check her temperature and she took some NyQuil and headed to bed.

I’m not quite ready for bed but I told her I’d lay with her. While we were laying down she asked if she could lay on my chest. I told her that I was honestly worried about getting sick and suggested we spoon instead this way she’s facing away from me. This resulted in a spat between us when she told me I shouldn’t care about getting sick and should be taking care of her.

I told her I’ve been taking care of her since she got home and I felt like it wasn’t unreasonable to try to avoid getting sick if I could help it. For context I am in my final year of law school and I have finals coming up along with work deadlines. I mentioned this to her in an attempt to explain that it wasn’t that I didn’t want to cuddle with her.

This evolved into her telling me that school is more apparently more important to me and that she doesn’t want to hear about how I have finals because I shouldn’t care that I might get sick from her laying on me. I eventually just left the room upset after we went back and forth with this a few times.
